We take photos of your teeth and use our state-of-the-art iTero scanner to create an accurate 3D impression of your smile

CLINCHECK

Here comes the science! We send your impressions to Invisalign, who create a video simulation showing exactly how your teeth will move at each stage — along with your custom, virtually invisible aligners.

TREATMENT

Within 3 weeks of your first appointment, we invite you back to the practice to show you how to wear and care for your aligners.

You switch to a new set of aligners every 2 weeks and simply remove them for meals and brushing.

After having a few consultations for Composite Bonding with the best cosmetic dentists I could find in and round Glasgow, I settled with Dr Ryan here at The Smile Rooms and I was the best decision I could have made. I am from the US and was on holiday in the UK when I started having a problem with one of my fillings. I called multiple dental practices in Glasgow to try to find someone who would take in a patient (who was obviously not already in their system) for an emergency appointment. 1Smile was extremely helpful and got me in for an appointment within a few hours of calling. Dr. Ryan Shum quickly found the source of my pain (a cracked filling and signs of decay), and advised a root canal treatment. Seeing as how I was only in Glasgow for another couple hours, he very graciously and clearly explained all of my options and helped me choose a route that would quickly solve the pain problem and get me through the rest of my holiday until I could return to the US. The treatment itself was great--Dr. Shum was sure to check in with me often during process to make sure I was doing okay. The treatment was also very successful (no more pain the rest of my trip!). Since my appointment, Dr. Shum and the office have been very good to communicate with as I have needed to get my x-rays and treatment summary letter sent to my new dentist in the US. The office called the following day just to check on how I was doing, and Dr. Shum has written to me personally to follow up and offered his assistance and advice even though I am back in the US now. I'm extremely grateful for the entire 1Smile Dental Clinic and Dr. Shum. Their professionalism, expertise, communication, and overall kindness is excellent. I've had various treatments done, including fillings & composite bonding and have found all work to be carried out to a high standard and good value for money. How can you look after your smile?

There are simple things you can do to make your treatment even safer in the long term, however.

One major action you can take is to make sure you brush regularly between meals, to ensure no food becomes stuck between your braces, and that any excess plaque is removed.

Orthodontic hardware is perfectly safe, but it can make it easy for bacteria to breed in your mouth, so keeping your mouth extra clean will stop any initial signs of decay.

We can also offer professional cleaning to make sure your orthodontics are perfectly clean and safe, but also to give you the confidence to keep smiling, even throughout your treatment.

When you first have your teeth straightening orthodontics installed, you may experience some discomfort.

What is orthodontic treatment?

By straightening your crowded or “crooked” teeth, orthodontic treatment will improve how your teeth bite together.

When is orthodontic treatment used?

There are a wide variety of dental problems that orthodontic treatment can solve. These include;

How long do orthodontic treatments take to complete?

How many visits will it take?

This depends entirely on the type of orthodontic treatment that you chose to have.

Will it hurt?

Braces may feel strange at the beginning of your treatment and can cause some slight discomfort.

This often only last for a short period of time as your teeth and mouth will quickly settle and adjust to the brace and usually, after just a couple of days, most discomfort will have subsided.

How much will braces cost?

The cost of straightening your teeth will vary, depending on the type of orthodontic treatment and the severity of your case.

Here at Smile Rooms Glasgow, at your initial consultation, we will offer you guidance on all of the different orthodontic options available to you, which will also specify the costs of the treatment options discussed.

What causes crooked teeth?

There are a multiple number of reasons as to why your teeth may have grown, be growing crooked or sit overcrowded.

They can be inherited from your parents. Often the children of parents that suffer with malformed jaws are more likely to have crooked teeth.

Sometimes, your baby teeth may fall our too early, this can also be a cause for crowded or crooked teeth.

Another common reason can be that your jaw is too small to accommodate for all of your adult teeth.
