Highly recommend this dental practice! After putting off going to the dentist for over 18 years following a traumatic experience, it was only a matter of time before I had to sit in that chair again! Eventually, it got to the point where eating had become uncomfortable, and despite my fear, I knew I had to do something. I was taken care of by Ajay, who helped me every step of the way, both with my anxiety and throughout the treatment. He was incredibly patient, reassuring and professional, which made the whole experience so much easier than I expected. Although the treatment is quite pricey, they do offer finance options, and in my opinion, the outstanding care and quality of the work made it worthwhile. I was recently treated by Dr Dhillon and Zeyneb, and they were both fantastic. They replaced a broken veneer and repaired several fillings. Dr Dhillon clearly explained all the available options and provided realistic timeframes for the treatment. I’ve dealt with a number of the team here throughout my journey so far, including Dr Sami Chabani for my Invisalign, Dr Sonam Sherpa for an extraction, Dr Francisco Amorim and Dr Philo Menon, and I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of everyone. I’ve never been to a dental practice where I’ve felt so comfortable and at ease. Every dentist, nurse and member of the front-of-house team I’ve met has been absolutely fantastic. Imogen, my treatment coordinator, has been so helpful and lovely throughout, and Mario never fails to put a smile on your face when you come in! I especially want to thank Dr Sonam. He had the rather unpleasant job of doing an extraction that I was really not looking forward to, but he did absolutely everything he could to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. He was so reassuring and personable throughout that it genuinely felt like having a friend there with me, which made such a difference during something I had been dreading. Dr Philo is equally wonderful, incredibly gentle, kind and just such a lovely person. He makes you feel completely at ease and genuinely cared for. Dr. Menon Philo - The most amazing dentist ever I went in today as my tooth filling had come off and it was causing me a great deal of pain and sensitivity. Smile Rooms Glasgow offers different teeth whitening methods. Some of these teeth whitening techniques take place at our dental surgery and others take place in the convenience of your own home.

All our teeth whitening treatments are overseen by our professional cosmetic dentists. You should never risk the health of your teeth by buying a teeth whitening kit online or from a shop. All our teeth whitening treatments are completely safe and painless.

Some teeth whitening options will give you instant results, whilst others are completed over a longer period.

All treatments will brighten and whiten your teeth to give you a dazzling new smile and boost your confidence!

Enlighten teeth whitening in Smile Rooms Glasgow

Enlighten teeth whitening takes place at both the dental surgery in Smile Rooms Glasgow and at your home.

Your cosmetic dentist will arrange for a custom-made mould to be made that will fit your teeth.

Once your teeth whitening trays are ready, you will wear them at night for approximately two weeks so that they gradually whiten your teeth.

Your final appointment with your dentist will take about 40 minutes to complete your teeth whitening treatment.

Teeth whitening at home

We offer the option to have teeth whitening at home with our teeth whitening kits. Our cosmetic dentists will make a bespoke mould that fits neatly over your teeth. You will be given approved teeth whitening gel to fill the mould and wear at night.

Frequently asked questions teeth whitening

What are the different options for whitening?

There are 3 types of whitening offered at Smile Rooms Glasgow, depending on the desired outcome these can be done individually or combined.

LASER: This is carried out in our whitening suite and involves applying a whitening gel to the teeth and exposing them to a UV laser light for short periods of time. The dentist will show you the instant results against a shade chart before and after your treatment.

HOME WHITENING: This involves the dentist taking moulds of your teeth using dental putty to create trays similar to gum shields. At home, depending on the type of treatment and desired outcome you wear these overnight or for 1-2 hours a day for the specified treatment duration.

DIAMOND POLISH: This is great especially on heavily stained teeth. It is a combination of air, sodium bicarbonate and a jet of water used to gently polish away built up stains and plaque for immediate results in a single session.

How does whitening work?

THE GEL: The active ingredient in the whitening gel is Hydrogen Peroxide, as this is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, lightening coloured substances without affecting the structure of the tooth.

THE LASER: The laser light activates the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. A study has shown the UV lamp increases the effectiveness of the gel by 26% or more, giving an average improvement of 8 shades.

How long does whitening last?

We provide sound and simple aftercare so this really depends on how well you care for your teeth afterwards. If you avoid frequently exposing your teeth to red wine, tea, coffee or cigarettes and have a good oral health routine your teeth should remain whiter.

To help with this, home treatment should include enough product to allow for occasional top ups which will really help in maintaining that brilliant smile.

How much whiter will my teeth look?

This depends on the type of whitening system used and varies from person to person.Those with heavily stained yellow teeth tend to have more dramatic results than those with quite white teeth.

Your dentist at Smile Rooms Glasgow will be able to advise you on the likely results following a consultation.

Are there side effects?

Some people experience no sensitivity with their teeth, however the majority of people will experience some kind of sensitivy during and after the initial treatment.

This should settle down after around 48 hours and it is advised that you avoid very hot or cold food and drinks during this period.

Am I suitable for teeth whitening?

Generally the answer is yes, however we perform an initial exam to check the surface of your teeth is suitable for whitening.

It is important that if you have existing dental work it’s important we show you which parts will lighten with whitening. Porcelain crowns and white fillings respond well to whitening, however metal fillings and non-porcelain crowns will not lighten.
